Regarding disk expansion for Elasticsearch Cluster

Hi,

We currently have an Elasticsearch (version 6.5) cluster with 3 Azure Virtual Machines.
Disk space is getting tight and we would like to improve the situation, but we are wondering what is the best approach to take. (Scale up? Scale out? Disk expansion?)

Could you please advise?

■Situation

  • The cluster is operating normally at the moment because we are regularly deleting data that is no longer in use, but the pace of data growth is increasing and we will soon be unable to cope by simply deleting the data.
  • If possible, we would like to improve the situation while keeping the system running.
