Hi,
I recently updated my elasticsearch & kibana from 5.6 to 6.8. everything worked great and the update was smooth.
however, now that i update my logstash, i get the following error - " [Rejecting mapping update to as the final mapping would have more than 1 type]"
and the upgrade assistant tells me i need to reindex all my indices. my question is - will reindexing all my indices result in loss of data?
What is the best way to go about this?

No. There may be data that cannot be reindexed, so you will need to resolve any issues before it can be reindex, but you will still retain the original event.

a follow up question - i rollbacked my logstash back from 6.8 to 5.6, and now everything works - logstash sends logs to elasticsearch without a problem
why is that?
