Security for Elasticsearch-php

Hi,
I am using Elasticearch 2.3.0, Kİbana 4.5.0, Marvel 2.3.0, Sense 2.0.0, Php 5.45.0, CENTOS 7(KDE).

I want to try authentication and encyrption in my project on my localhost.
What can I do? Actually I read this link: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/client/php-api/current/_security.html but I am working on localhost. I wonder, Can I try some safety testing? Or Should I use shield plugin for my local project testing?
