I recently upgraded to 7.8 and after that it started creating 7.8.0 indices and I thought that it would close out the existing 7.7.0 indices at some point but here I am days later and indices for 7.7.0 and 7.8.0 are still being created and docs continue to be indexed into both of them.
Any idea why ?
Is this normal ? if not how do I fix it?
hi @srpine, have all your beats instances being upgraded to 7.8? Have you upgraded the entire elk setup?
Can you detect which beats instances are still generating 7.7.0 indices and check the output as well?
When I checked all installed beat clients I discovered on host that was not yet upgraded.
After upgrading that node to 7.8.0 the logging to 7.7.0 logs ceased (as expected).
Thanks again for your prompt reply.
