Snapshot into one data node in cluster

hello,
i am working on snapshot some of my indices, and found Microsoft Windows UNC paths setting but not really clear how to set this up.

  • is it possible to set up a snapshot to back up indices into one data node in cluster?

i have 1 master + 9 data nodes, and would make snapshot being stored into one data node. if above is possible, please advise how i set up the repo.path.

fyi, es version is 6.8 and os is centos7.

No that is not possible. Snapshots require shared storage available to all nodes.

is there way to move the snapshot result files into other clusters then(to extract there to query)? if so, can you please advise how to or share any reference page?
