Couple of questions:

  1. is there any webinar for snapshot and restore ?
  2. Is it possible to change the name of the indices while restoring ?

Should the number of nodes on the snapshot cluster and restore cluster be same ? What if the number of nodes are not same?

Not a problem. You are restoring indices not nodes.

So we will have to have same number of indices and replicas on both the snapshot and restore clusters ... is my understanding right ?

You will have the same number of shards. For replicas, it will depend on the number of nodes. If you restore in a cluster with only one node, obviously you won't have any replica allocated.

If i have a 5 data node cluster - Shall i just run the curator to take the snapshot into a directory on that one node ? Is this the right approach ?
