Synonym Token Filter

Hi

I want to use Synonym Token Filter,I need clarification before using
analyzer:

a.) Suppose i have declare Synonym like* ipod, i-pod, i pod then it's
necessary to index both data(ipod, i-pod, i pod).
b.) if index contain repeated data like ipod, i-pod, i pod mobile,*ipod TV,i
-pod computer,ipod, i-pod, i pod * *and Synonym declare as ipod, i-pod,*i pod
*can it's work and what the aspect ed result i got.
