Trying to get log from my computer but is not working

Hi Folks,

I'm learning the use of ELK stack by following this tuto :

When I want to configure the index pattern on kibana, 'logstash-' told me 'Unable to fetch mapping [...]'.
It's normal for me because the default file made by the forwarder start with 'filebeat-' by default.
I have only a little of data stored in ES if I look with sense plugging.

I look at the logs (kibana, logstash, elasticsearch) and I see error like a lot of java err in ES but I have no idea where I have to look to find out how manage this.

Any hint ?

It's probably because there is no data in ES, use _cat/indices to check and then take a look at your LS to make sure it is processing things.
