is it possible to have the elastic cloud stopped for non business hours? Completely to avoid charges?
I guess alternative to that may be to resize it to smaller node size when there is no traffic?

You can resize, but stopping is the same as destroying for the service, so you'd need to delete the cluster.

On the note of resizing. Is there an automated option for downsizing for certain hours and back to original for the rest of the time?

Not Today, we are just getting started with auto-scaling ... not automated...
That does not mean you can not resize you cluster everyday using and external scheduler and the API.
