So I seem unable to select the "Security Solution" tag for dashboards in Elastic Security Serverless?
I was able to add it by exporting the saved object and manually adding it to the json and reimporting it, but there appears to be no Security Solution tag to assign when going to Dashboard settings..
In my test environment, I see that a dashboard would still show up even though it does not have the "Security Solution" tag presented (next to the orange one). Since this is a security serverless project, it might be that all dashboards are considered as security solution by default.
I checked with the team, the Security Solution tag has been transitioned to a managed tag, which is used exclusively for Elastic dashboards. If you go to Stack Management -> Tags, the tag is shown as locked. The docs is outdated on the Security Solution tag reference and we will update it, thanks for pointing this out.
With that being said, a custom dashboard without explicitly adding Security Solution tag should still show up on the dashboard page. Alternatively, you can remove the default filter.
The prefilled Security Solution tag filter doesn’t align with our workflows—we never use the built-in dashboards. To address this, I exported all our custom dashboards, manually added the necessary tags by editing the JSON files, and then reimported them. While this workaround solved our issue, the inability to modify or remove the locked Security Solution tag filter feels unnecessarily restrictive.
It’s worth mentioning that this behavior contradicts the documentation, which suggests custom dashboards should appear on the dashboard page without needing the Security Solution tag. Thanks @ChristineW_Elastic for confirming that the tag has been transitioned to a managed tag used exclusively for Elastic dashboards.
