Upgrade from 5.4.1 to 5.5.0 Fails - Service won't start

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. After the upgrade we're getting this error in the syslog file:

I've seen the same mbeans Java error on other posts but everything I've tried to get the service started fails. The main thing I've tried is tweaking and checking permissions of the user that runs the elasticsearch service...in my case it is "esearch." Also tried running it from the command line with no luck.
I've also got a request for help on GitHub here: https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues/25691

Thanks in advance for any help that you could give us with this issue.
