Upgrade to 8.1 from 7.14.0

We are planning to upgrade Elasticsearch from 7.14 to 8.1.
The doubt I have is about index templates. As legacy templates are deprecated in favor of composable templates. So before upgrade do we need to change all existing templates to composable templates? Whenever we create any new templates we will try to create them as composable templates, but what about existing index templates?

I have not found anywhere its as a breaking changes.
Please let us know to plan accordingly.
