Using cert base authentication with Elasticsearch filter plugin

We have successfully configured the Elasticsearch output plugin with cert based authentication for a while now. We now have a use case where we want to do log enrichment with the Elasticsearch filter plugin but I can't find any documentation around enabling that.

Is it possible?
