What unit is Storage Size under Index Management?

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I am wondering what unit Storage Size is under Index management in Kibana. I am confused if it is bits or bytes. Instinct tells me that it is bytes as that is what data storage is normally reported in. However, since it is a lower case b standards tell me that it is in bits. I would like some clarification on this so that I can properly determine storage needs.

Thanks in advance, and apologies if I am asking a question that has already been answered, but I was unable to find the answer anywhere.

@BenB196 we generally always use bytes for sizes, and that is the case here as well. Great question, and hopefully future seekers will find this!
