Where does it install FileBeat?

Hello,

We need to install FileBeat for send information to Logstash.

servers

We have 3 servers. The servers first and second contains apps and logs and the third contains ELK.

Where do we install the FileBeat?

We need to install in the third server together ELK.

is possible filebeat access the information from server 3 till server 1 and 2 ?

Please find below response.

You need to install the filebeat on instances where you want to collect the logs only. In your case you dont need to install the filebeat where your ELK is installled (server 3).

server 1 (filebeat) collect the logs and can send to logstash or directly elasticsearch <server 3>.
Server 2 (Filebeat) collect the logs and can send to logstash or directly elasticsearch <server 3>.

If you want to collect the logs of server 3 you can directly collect the same through logstash.
