While trying to Close Indices ElasticSearch gives error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I am trying to close the indices using the POST cmd
localhost:9200/_all/_close
But I am receiving this exception from Elasticsearch.

Exception: 'Elasticsearch 'Indices.Close' API failed due to error 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.'. What are the scenarios which might let to such error. Is there a way to resolve it.

That doesn't look like a response from Elasticsearch.
