Why can't I set master.node?

I have made this post before and I didnt get solved.

Hello, I'm building an ELK production cluster consisting of 1 master and 1 (maybe 2) data nodes. All I'm trying to do is create a small topology of 1 master node and a data node. Assigning master.node: true to the file causes it to crash.
Am I missing something obvious?

When I run the service:
