Add dropdown box in Kibana Interface

Hi folks

I want to add a small feature to Kibana, however I could not understand
whole structure of Kibana.
Particularly I want to add a dropdown menu to be able to choose host to
display the logs accordingly.

Where should I start from? How can I write a query to filter logs?

Thanks in advance...

May be path:"/var/log/*" could work?

But it depends on your analyzer for field path I guess.

Actually, I probably could not explain my problem very well. Here is
another screen shot:

When choose Host 1 from dropdown menu, I want to filter all logs from list
of logs. To make this happen,
should I write a new controller or something else?
