Beats and ELK cluster version

I am planning to upgrade my ELK cluster to 7.0 and don't want to upgrade my beats which are on the older version.
I just want to confirm there will be no issue after only upgrading my cluster. Or do i need to upgrade my beats too. Please let me know?

Your beats of older version, what version are they?

Only beats >=6.7 are compatible with ES>=7.
