Can non active master eligible nodes be used as coordinators

I am designing a cluster, and looking to split the responsibilities within the cluster so will have separate master, data and coordinator nodes. In order to help the economics of deployment i was wondering if it might be feasible to use the otherwise dormant non master masters to act as coordinators while they are not being actively used.
The suggestion being that the Master master is identified and requests are not routed to this instance (checks done either before every request or periodically)
I appreciate that in an ideal world you would ring fence the master resources, however, in an economy driven world how much risk is there in this compromise?

Thanks

Keith

You'd have to figure out how to do this correctly, but it's an option that you can explore.
It's not something we currently recommend doing though.

Thanks for the input Mark.
