Cannot connect to ES on localhost

the below image shows kibana and ES are running (I am using Windows 8)
But i cannot connect to ES on localhost:9200

Kibana is loading on localhost:5601 but i cant see any contents there:

Cannot connect to ES on localhost:9200 on Windows 2008 R2 Server

It cannot connect when I point to localhost :9200 Also I don't understand why kibana appears as shown above(not loading fully ) when I point to localhost:5601
