Cannot connect to the elasticsearch cluster - 7.4.2

I've had Kibana/Elasticstack/Metricbeat working for a while in a different location. I've tried to install it again with the most recent version copying the config i used the first time. However it would seem whenever i try to open Kibana i see an error:

Cannot connect to the Elatsicsearch cluster currently configured for Kibana. To use the full set of free features in this distribution of Kibana, Please update elasticsearch to the default distribution.

I've used version 7.4.2 for all 3. I'm using the OSS version of Elasticstack.

Any help would be great

It sounds like you are using the full-featured version of Kibana. How did you install Kibana?
