Change data in node manually

Hey guys,

I've struggled with this issue all day. I just want to change data used by
ES.
For now my data are in /var/lib/elasticsearch/elasticsearch/nodes. I have
made a dump from others ES data and I've replaced the one I use by theses
new data.
But I don't know why ES is still using the old data no matter if I restart
ES or clear the cache.
I probably don't understand something in how works ES. I thought ES was
looking in these node files to search terms but apparently not.
I even try to delete the data and ES is still working the same.
So if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong thanks!

Did you change the cluster name?

No but I didn't set a cluster name. I think it is set automatically. Do I
have to set one?
Can you tell me what would be the problem with the cluster name please?
Thanks for your answer David.

No need to change it but just wondering if you did.
Because the data path you showed is the default one.

Did you set path.data in elasticsearch.yml or es.path.data in your Shell?

Did you install RPM or deb package?
