Controls Visualization: empty values

Hello,
I'am using Kibana in v6.3.2 and I'am trying to visualize IP Networks by there names and devices. So I've created a visualization to filter networknames. Some of these Networknames are just empty Strings and this causes the following behaviour:

The controls visualization seems to select empty values in default.

After adding and applying a Network which I'd like to filter to, the selected Network and the empty ones are shown in my dashboard.

I think this is not an expected behaviour.

What happens if you delete the empty option? Does it stay deleted after clicking clicking Clear form or does it come back?

This may warrant a Github issue.

after clicking on "clear form" the empty field option comes back and the viz is in default state, like described in the first post.

I will create an issue on github for this.
