Issue- In a two Node cluster Node A & Node B on Linux, Can we use a common shared (NFS/Cluster) filesystem for path.data and path.log on both nodes or we have to create on local filesystems of the server.

You should not do that and prefer only local drives.
BTW in production, you'd probably prefer running 3 nodes. The 3rd node would be a Tie Breaker. It can be a master elligible node only with less power.
