Elasticsearch upgrade from 5.6 to 7.4

Hello,

We have our production cluster running on 5.6 version. We would like to upgrade the Elasticsearch to 7.4 version. Is it possible to directly migrate from 5.x to 7.x ?

Also we are using parent child relationship in our current Elasticsearch architecture.

It is not possible to directly migrate from 5.x to 7.x. Take a look at here for the upgrade paths. Read carefully, as there is a lot you have to consider.

You need to reindex if you want to do this.
