I'm reviewing the "Full cluster restart upgrade" instructions specified here: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/restart-upgrade.html . At step 3 it supplies a link with procedures to "upgrade-node" . In turn, that leads to a page that in step 3 indicates "Stop and upgrade a single node" . Choosing to upgrade via RPM package, the link sends me to "Install Elasticsearch with RPM". I'm a bit confused. Shouldn't we use the -U switch when upgrading ElasticSearch (rpm -Uv )? What is the affect of not using the -U switch per the detailed instructions given?
Yes, you can do that.
Or just use yum upgrade.
