Elasticsearch version upgrade data retention

Hi All,

Is it possible to retain the data from previous version of elasticsearch when I am upgrading to latest version.
I was starting to work with GRAPH which gives me error for the older version of elasticsearch.
My current version -elasticsearch 2.1.0

Yes, you can upgrade without data loss.
