fieldFormatters inside visualizations

Hi all, is there a way to format field value with a custom fieldformatter plugin I've created inside the visualizations?
My fieldFormatter applied to a string field works perfect inside the discover app, but when I make a visualization (for ex. tagCloud) I can't see result values customized but only the "real" values.

This might be a bug, I will check with the visualization folks in the morning.

Verified this is a bug for the tag cloud visualization. I have opened an issue for it here: https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/12069.

Thank you Tyler, just found that also in the x-pack graph field formatters seems not to be used well.
