Filebeat locking the file

Hi ,

Will filebeat locks the files if logstash is down in the receiving end? I couldn't telnet from my filebeat server to logstash.
I restarted logstash service and getting the below error even after logstash is up(telnet working)

2017-05-30T08:41:13+02:00 ERR SSL client failed to connect with: read tcp 10.x.x.x:xxxx->10.x.x.x:14012: i/o timeout

I think this was solved in: Filebeat holding deleted files which consumes disk space

but if it's a close_timeout missing usage, it's possible also to lose data
