Get Elasticsearch Index Volume by Search

Hi All,

I know with latest versions we can get index size easy via the Kibana console. However, wondering it its possible to run a search in elasticsearch that comes back by volume of data by a tag e.g. for example I have app name as a tag and want to see how much filebeat data is ingest in MB consumption per app.

I understand yes you could run estimate this - but no all apps log the same e.g. some payloads are much smaller than others.

You would need to install https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/plugins/current/mapper-size.html to get this level of info.
