I know this is incredibly basic and I'm not trolling, I can't find a logout button
What version are you on?
7.X, there's a user icon in the top right corner, click that and then logout.
Thank you warkolm! This is for a 7.17 instance at work.
On my local (also 7.17) I do see the icon
On the work instance I don't
Thought I was missing something thank you for pointing that out for me
I might just have to check with our ops team to figure it out
Open up your browser's dev tools and see if there's anything there.
Yeah there's definitely an extra element in the local instance that's not there in the shared instance
Think maybe it's a security setting?
Yeah that's what I was thinking as well.
What sort of of auth does Elasticsearch use, AD/LDAP/other? I am not 100% sure how Kibana works with that in play, but in an instance we use internally that has Okta auth, I have a logout button.
The instance isn't set up with managed accounts, the accounts are shared but manually created. Sorry I don't have much further info I feel I should press my ops team now to give me answers thanks for all the help
We resolved the issue. The account button was not visible because X-Pack Security was not enabled yet
