How to do authorization in elasticsearch

I wanna to integrate user authorization part.how it possible without using xpack.

X-Pack is the component of the Elastic Stack that provides Authentication and Authorization for Elasticsearch. We do not provide any way to do that without X-Pack.

Why aren't you willing to use X-Pack for that?

es 2.x-->shield..

xpack is not free.I want free version.
