Importing dashboard to kibana Via api

When importing saved object to kibana through the Api, it changes the IDs of the saved object automatically, thus gives me error when trying to access some objects that I referenced with their ID number, how to avoid this overwriting issue

Can you share the specific error you are receiving on importing the saved object(s).

this is when I click on a link in my main dashboard that refernces to another dashboard

Thanks for confirming. Which version of Elastic are you importing out of and into? Are they the same?

Can you share the API request you made to import the dashboard and the response as well? I would expect the request to fail for missing references as per the docs. I'm wondering if making use of the resolve errors API will help.
