Is Kibana Canvas in the process of being discontinued?

I saw that there are topics that report bugs regarding Canvas, and it has not received improvements since versions 7.xx.
I offer and execute many screen proposals based on Canvas but I asked myself this today, is it worth investing in Canvas if it is supposedly no longer in Elastic's plans?

Hi @Kevin_Alexsander1

At the moment Presentation Team (Plugin owner) is adressing only critical Canvas bugs.

If you have a question about particular bug or enhancement/feature, you can ping @elastic/kibana-presentation in Github issue (create one if needed). This way you will get the most recent information.

Best regards, Dima

Hi @Kevin_Alexsander1, thanks for your message. Canvas is in maintenance mode for now and the idea is that dashboards can fully replace them in the long-term. Can I ask you why you use Canvas and which features you need in dashboards in order to use these instead? Thanks.

Just a feedback, I was also planning to use Canvas, but gave up as it was too complicate to do simple things and there are basically zero pratical examples in Elastic documentation.

Kibana dashboards can be pretty good for technical users, but they are bad and looks ugly if you need to show in a presentation for non-technical or upper management users.

Our alternative was to get the data we need out of Elasticsearch and use other tools like Google Looker or Power BI to make these kind of presentations.

I use Canvas because it gives a more executive vision to the more executive audience. While I use Dashboards to build more technical indicators.

The example data is very beautiful, like Ecommerce, when I present it to clients they always ask for an executive view of a certain data source. Now I will no longer recommend the use of canvas as there is no point in using it if it is being discontinued.
