Hello, I want to try out the 'Canvas' functionality in Kibana to see if we can use it for custom reporting. We created a hosted deployment (now version 9.0.2) with the following instances:
Zone westeurope-1
Integrations server 1 zone - 1GM RAM | Up to 8.5 vCPU
Zone westeurope-3
Elasticsearch hot and Content tier 1 zone - 35GB | 1GM RAM | Up to 2.1 vCPU
Kibana 1 zone - 1GB RAM | Up to 8.5 vCPU
I wanted to try out Canvas after creating the deployment, but I couldn't find it in the deployment (Kibana GUI). I then found out that I had to switch the Solution view to classic. This did not work out, I still couldn't see Canvas. Why can't I find the option Canvas, is it something they removed since the new update? Can you please help me out? Thanks in advance!
@Twan_Scheffers What features are you looking for in Canvas that are not available in Dashboard? The reason that canvas does not show up unless the system contains at least one saved canvas is that we are trying to steer users towards Dashboard.
Hi Nathan, thanks for your reply. We want to make a report in portrait mode, we just want to try out some things in the Canvas. But I read that it's not possible to set dashboards in portrait mode, right? This is why we want to use Canvas.
Hi Nathan thanks for your reply. I generated an example saved object using AI and the import succeeded. Unfortunately, I get this error message when clicking on it:
