Is WorkplaceSearch compatible with GitLab?

I have a lot of documentation in GitLab.
I would like to use WorkplaceSearch to search them, but the configurable content source is GitHub.
Is GitLab supported? Or do I need to use a custom API source?
Or is there a better way?

Hey @its-ogawa,

You're right, you'll need to use Custom API sources to connect data from a third party like GitLab that doesn't currently have a first-party integration.

The good news is that we're working on some enablement and quality-of-life improvements to Custom API sources that should show up in the next release or two of Workplace Search. These will make working with Custom API sources even easier.

That's very good news for our team that is creating online documentation in GitLab.
The current custom API procedure is a daunting task for those of us with a lot of documentation.
If we can more easily incorporate it into WorkplaceSearch, we can encourage our team to use it.

I wish Elastic members a very lucky future.
