Kibana annotations without going through anomaly detection

Hello,

I followed this tutorial regarding annotations in Kibana :

Time Series, Annotations, and Anomalies with Kibana

It is a nice feature but I would like to give the user the ability to annotate a time series graph from the dashboard/vizualization.
Is there a way to annotate a time series graph without going through the ML menu ?

If not, have you found workaround to write easily in an annotation index to serve as a data source to overlay both time series data and user annotations.

There is no way really, other than just posting documents to the annotation index via the Console in Kibana. It does make a great enhancement request, so if you could post it in the Kibana repo, that would be great.
