Kibana BAD Request on index pattern creation and use

Hello,
after upgrading ELK from 4.5 to 5.4.3 we encountered the following error,
while trying to use or create some of the index patterns:
Request to Elasticsearch failed: Bad Request.

Hi all, Continuing the discussion from Kibana shows blank sites in Discover, Management, ... after deleting/creation of default index pattern: I had an index-pattern logstash-2017* which I deleted, then I recreated it with PUT .kibana/index-pattern/logstash-2017* {"title" : "logstash-2017*", "timeFieldName": "@timestamp"} now I see it in the list of index-patterns but when I try to select it, it doesnt do anything. Hi @Noam,

does either the network response in the browser dev tools or the Kibana server console show more details about that error? Usually Elasticsearch is very verbose about it.
