Hi,
While using the Kibana documentation link from the Help button on the upper right side of the elastic page, I noticed the search functionality is not working as before, in other words it sent me to unrelated links or links that are related but are not the ones I used to get before. Can someone confirm this is a temporary issue and fix it on a timely manner, I noticed because I'm preparing to take a certification and for some topics I need to check the documentation, but currently the search functionality is useless and it takes me forever to find something that few weeks ago used to take me no time to find what I was looking for.
Yes, I agree the new search implementation they seem to have switched to is useless and does not work. Whenever I search using the built in search I get lots of irrelevant links that even sometimes are wrong. At the moment I am just getting links to release notes just like you are. I am now using Google search to find what I am looking for within the documentation, which is a bit sad. Given that Elastic is a company that specialises in search I think this is actually embarrasing and have no idea how this has passed testing.
This is also not the first time it has happened. If I remember correctly almost the same thing happened about a year ago or so. Then they rolled back to the previous implementation after a week or so.
Thanks! We'll also take a look at this.
Hi @alextg. Thanks for the feedback. I know this is frustrating. We're actively working on improving indexing for the new docs. In the meantime, if you remove the kibana
(or any other content filter) you should get better results.
