I have ingested a small sample of data (1000 rows) into elasticsearch with logstash. When I go to Kibana and try to create the index, Kibana seems stuck and is taking forever to create the index - previously such a small sample would take just a few seconds to create. Does anyone have troubleshoot advice so I can find out why Kibana is not running correctly?

Can you open up the developer console in your browser and see if there are any errors being thrown? Additionally, check to see if there is an error in the Elasticsearch logs.
You were right, there were errors in the elasticsearch log. I ended restarting everything and I got it to work. Thank you @Tylersmalley!
