Reduce data paths on running cluster

Hi,

we want to change the storage layer of our Elasticsearch Cluster (6.2.4). It would be necessary to reduce the "path.data" paths on each node from 6 to 4. Is this even possible? if yes also without downtime (rolling)?

I don't think this is possible as you can't move shards off a path.

It might be worth raising a feature request for it though :slight_smile:
