Referencing a URL for Elasticsearch Template/Kibana Dashboards

Wondering if it's possible to reference a URL for the ElasticSearch Output Template option? The same with pulling down Kibana Dashboards, similar to the example dashboards used by the Beats agents.

I believe it needs to be a local file.
