Continuing the discussion from Region Map can't join fields:

I am having the same issue but I am unable to understand what the OP did to solve the problem. What 'empty' field is OP referring to here in the solution?

Can you share the entire error that Kibana is returning?

Okay so the problem was due to mapping mismatch from geojson file being used and config in the kibana.yml file. The geojson has the state name and district name as 'NAME_1' & 'NAME_2' and so on so I had to configure the kibana.yml file with the same naming convention. A blunder on my part. Should have investigated more before panicking
