Request for Elastic Security Free Trial Extension for SOC PoC Internship Project

Hello Elastic Security Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I would like to kindly follow up regarding my requests for an extension of the Elastic Security free trial. I have submitted multiple requests but unfortunately I have not yet received approval or feedback.

I am currently completing my end-of-studies internship as a cybersecurity engineering student, and my project consists of building a Proof of Concept (PoC) for an AI-augmented SOC using Elastic Security solutions. The objective is to demonstrate the platform’s capabilities to the company where I am interning, with the possibility of adopting Elastic solutions in the future.

Because this project is still in progress, an extension of the trial period would greatly help me complete the implementation, testing, and evaluation phases.

Could you please review my request or guide me on the best way to proceed?

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Best regards,
Nabyl Ouchine

Hi Nabyl!

Did you fill out either of these forms? And if so when?

On-prem extensions: Self-managed Trial Extension Request | Elastic
Cloud extension: Elasticsearch Service Trial Extension

Let me know and how long you have left on your trial. I'll do my best to help.

Hi,

Thank you so much for getting back to me!

Yes, following my initial message, I did fill out the on-premises trial extension form — I actually submitted it multiple times but unfortunately never received any response or confirmation.

I currently have only 7 days left on my trial, which is quite critical for me at this stage of my project.

Just to give you more context: I am a final year cybersecurity engineering student at INPT (Institut National des Postes et Télécommunications) in Morocco. My end-of-studies project is a Proof of Concept for an AI-augmented SOC using Elastic Security, with the goal of demonstrating the platform's value to my internship company — which could potentially lead to a full Elastic adoption.

I would be extremely grateful if you could help process the extension as soon as possible given the urgency.

Thank you again for your support!

Best regards,
Nabyl Ouchine

To set realistic expectations: Extensions are driven by sales. You are not a good "target" for them. That's definitely part of the problem here and I cannot guarantee an easy way out.

But maybe as a workaround: Can you start another trial (without the current data)? You could do that yourself and get another 30 day trial to finish your work on that. Maybe that helps?

Hi Xeraa,

Thank you for the honest feedback and for taking the time to respond — I really appreciate it.

Regarding starting a new trial: I understand it could be a workaround, but unfortunately it would be very difficult at this stage. My current setup is deeply integrated with several other solutions — all of which took significant time to configure. Rebuilding everything from scratch in the limited time I have left before my project deadline is simply not feasible.

That is why I was really hoping for an extension on my existing cluster rather than starting fresh.

Is there any other path you could suggest, or anyone specific on the Elastic team I could reach out to directly to escalate this request?

Thank you again for your help and understanding.

Best regards,
Nabyl Ouchine

Thanks for the additional context. The official path for trial extensions is still the extension request form, and approvals are handled case by case. I want to set expectations that extensions aren’t guaranteed. If you’ve already submitted the form and haven’t heard back, there may not be another public escalation route we can offer here on Discuss.

If the extension doesn’t come through in time, the main fallback is to start a new trial, though I understand that may be difficult if your current setup is heavily integrated
