Restore a partial data (results matching to a query) from a snapshot

Hi Team,

I am wondering if we can restore data from a snapshot that matches a query.

This i am doing because i have a snapshot of about 96gb stored in custom S3 repository. There was a policy applied and the storage class got changed to Glacier.

It is now restored and i am unable to get the _status of the snapshot. Getting a error as aws_exception.

But i would just like to try by restoring a small data from that snapshot. I cannot delete the snapshot as i have important data in it.

Kindly assist here please?

Hi @kaushik.vankayala

there is no way of restoring by query I'm afraid. The finest level of granularity the snapshot API offers is restoring specific indices from the snapshot as is documented here.
