Server-side rendering (#3148) - getting it done

Hi there,

I'm trying to find out what it would take to get issue #3148 - server side rendering of visualisation - done and dusted. The options I see are:

  • we get a little more detail on the task then develop and submit a patch
  • an existing contributor to the project is 'encouraged' (read: sponsored) to implement it

How do we get it done?

There is a new implementation of the server coming in 4.2; the first draft has been merged into Master and some more updates on it are pending. I think once that's done it might be a good time to re-evaluate how that issue fits into the new world order and what a solution looks like. One of the primary uses cases for having a Kibana server was to support server side rendering.
