Single instance upgrade from 5.1.2 to 5.3.1?

Hi,

we have a single instance of ELK running.
I want to update from 5.1.2 to 5.3.1.

The upgrade instructions I found are for clusters.

Since I cannot avoid downtime with a single instance, what do I need to do?
Just applying my configuration to the new server version and start the new version?

Yes. Shutdown the old version, upgrade in place, start the new version.
