Sub-bucket aggregation missing on tilemap/view changes over time

I'm using Kibana 5.3 and Elsatic search 5.3 and the tilemap visualization and enhanced tilemap plugin. Neither of these is giving me a sub bucket level to transform my map visualization.

I want to be able to view my map over time. Is there a way to do this? I basically mean a capability where I make a map with a metric aggregation and coordinates and then have a scrollbar to view how this changes over time

There's no way to do this at the moment, however there is an open enhancement request for this on Github: https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/3326
