Unable to access current SAML authenticated user

I am trying to create a Kibana visualization report from 2 indices which are below

  1. Employee : Contains information about an employee
  2. Employeemanager : Contains employee id and his/her managers employeeID.

I should be able to list a logged in user's manager's reportees. I tried using the terms lookup filter to join both indices and map them with "_user.username" variable in the rolesapi and it is not supported. Is there any other way to retrieve the managers reportees ?
